I sit at my desk, and turn on my record player.
It’s Unforgettable by Nat King Cole.
An orange hue floats out from my desk lamp,
and hits my eyes like a flood of memories.
Each thought pumps happiness into my mind.
It is a distant happiness, not one I can touch.
My head slumps down to my desk.
It’s a deep mahogany.
I look into the scratches, I smell the lacquer.
Every fiber of the wood seems to cry out,
And so I weep.
And so I weep.

Perfect song to go with describing how nostalgia can really hit a person. Like looking back on a past love that ended mutually with no hard feelings. I also really enjoy that you've captured both sides to nostalgia: the remnants of happiness that bring a smile to your face while simultaneously bringing a tear to your eye that the moment has passed.
You've used simple words to depict a difficult feeling, and I think that's what makes this piece so splendid. I honestly have nothing to truly criticize about this piece.
